Words of Love

Have you ever seen someone's eyes light up when they look at you? Felt the warmth of someone beside you in your bed, their kiss on your lips? Have you felt the love in their fingertips, or heard it in the way they say your name? Have you known that you could spend years in their arms? Have you dreamed of being in love with that person forever, knowing that is the forever you wish to spend?

Yes, He loves her endlessly, she thought. He puts his arms around her and pulls her close. His eyes are closed, he is enjoying every moment. She never knew that something else was going on. Maybe his eyes aren't closed because he is enjoying every moment. Maybe they are closed because he is hiding from his doubts about her and their relationship.
Those doubts continuously loosened the knot until finally love is nothing but a word. He cant find the words to tell her..that there are moments when he finds that his heart unravels and the voice whispers dark insecurities. It comes back to tell him that she cant be true to him and that she will never love him the way he needs to be loved.

You can only walk on thin ice for so long before it breaks under the weight of your doubts.

It is the same reason why he couldn't find the words and he never told her he loved her all those years ago, when it was blatantly and abundantly clear that he did. Then and now , he couldn't say the words and be that vulnerable. He couldn't officially give her his heart. Saying those words would make the uncertainty of love too real.

Everyone knows not to run with scissors or grasp the sharp side of a knife. Words turned out to be the most dangerous weapons of all.
